Coventract Docs
Everything you need to know about using Coventract — from creating your first contract to managing enterprise workflows.
Getting Started
Create your account and send your first contract in under 5 minutes.
Visit the Register page and sign up with your email and password. You can choose your account type: Freelancer, Small Business, or Big Company.
Once logged in, you'll land on your Dashboard — your central hub for all contracts, templates, and settings.
Click 'New Contract' from the dashboard or navigation to start building your first agreement.
New accounts include a free trial with a limited number of contracts. Upgrade anytime from the Subscription page.
Contract Builder
A guided multi-step wizard that takes you from blank to a professional contract.
The Contract Builder is the core of Coventract, and it's type-aware: pick a contract type (Service, NDA, Lease, Employment, Sale and more) and the wizard reconfigures its fields and clauses to match — then guides you step by step to a complete, professional agreement. It is not limited to service agreements.
Choose your contract type (or a template) — the builder adapts every step to it, so an NDA asks about confidentiality while a lease asks about rent and term.
Enter the details for that type — the parties, dates, and amounts change to fit (e.g. disclosing/receiving parties for an NDA, landlord/tenant for a lease, project & client for a service agreement).
Complete the type-specific sections — scope & deliverables for services, property & term for a lease, roles & compensation for employment, and so on.
Legal Clauses — add clauses suited to the chosen type (confidentiality, termination, IP ownership, rent…) or let the AI Assistant generate them automatically.
Design — Pick a visual style for your contract (Modern, Classic, Minimal, Bold, etc.).
Signature — Type your full name as your electronic signature to create the contract.
The fields and clauses adapt to the Service contract type.
Alongside the templates for your account type, Coventract includes a shared Legal & Personal library (NDAs, agreements, and everyday personal documents) available to everyone. You can hide or show it any time with the toggle at the top of the template step. (If the library has been turned off site-wide, it won't be available.)
Contract Types
Pick the exact agreement you need — the builder adapts to it.
Coventract isn't one generic form. Choose from a catalog of contract types — Service Agreement, NDA, Lease, Employment, Sale, MSA, Partnership, Will, Power of Attorney and more — grouped into categories. Each type gives you the right fields, professionally-written clauses, a plain generic version, and 8 Arab-region jurisdictions, in both English and Arabic.
Open Contract Types from the sidebar (or the “Browse all” link on the New Contract step).
Browse by category, or press “/” to search by name — e.g. “NDA”, “lease”, “employment”.
The types you're most likely to need appear first, based on the categories you chose during onboarding.
Pick a type to open the builder pre-configured with its fields and clauses — then customize everything.
The categories you chose when you signed up move your most relevant types to the top. You can always browse every type or search the full catalog.
Templates & Legal Library
Start from a professional template instead of a blank page.
Coventract ships ready-made templates tailored to your account type, plus a shared Legal & Personal library (NDAs, agreements, and everyday personal documents) available to everyone. Pick one to pre-fill the builder, then customize freely. You can hide or show the Legal & Personal library any time with the toggle at the top of the template step.
Saving Your Own Templates
Turn any contract into a reusable template.
Beyond the built-in library, you can save your own contracts as personal templates and reuse them for future work — so you never re-type the same terms twice.
Build or open a contract you want to reuse.
Choose “Save as template” to store it under your Templates.
From Templates, open “New template” to create one from scratch, or edit any template you've saved.
Start a new contract from your template to pre-fill all its fields and clauses.
Voice-to-Contract
Speak your contract into existence — no typing required.
Describe the deal out loud and the AI turns your words into a structured contract. A live transcript shows what you say in real time, and any missing details are prompted field-by-field with their own mic.
Tap the floating mic (or open Voice-to-Contract) and describe the client, work, deliverables, and payment.
Watch the live transcript as you speak — edit anything by voice or keyboard.
The AI drafts the fields and clauses; fill any missing required fields, each with its own mic.
Add an optional password and signature, review everything, then save to generate the contract.
AI Clause Assistant
Powered by Google Gemini — get intelligent legal clause suggestions tailored to your project.
In the Legal Clauses step of the Contract Builder, you can describe your project in plain English and the AI will suggest relevant legal clauses to protect your interests.
How to use AI Suggestions
In the 'Legal Clauses' step, find the 'AI Suggestions' panel.
Briefly describe your project (e.g., 'Mobile app development for an e-commerce client, 3 months').
Click 'Get AI Suggestions' — the AI will generate a list of relevant clauses.
Review each suggestion and click to add it to your contract, or edit the text before adding.
Additionally, from a contract's View page, you can click on any clause to get an instant plain-English explanation of what it means — great for reviewing contracts with clients.
Digital Signatures
Collect legally-binding electronic signatures from all parties.
Coventract supports a three-party signature flow: the Freelancer (you), the Client, and an optional Legal Reviewer (Lawyer). All signatures are time-stamped and recorded.
Your Signature
Sign when creating the contract. Type your full name as your e-signature.
Client's Signature
Share a secure link with your client. They sign from their browser — no account needed.
Legal Approval
Optionally, assign a lawyer to review and stamp the contract with their approval.
Viewing, Designing & Sharing a Contract
Everything you can do on a contract's page — design, download, share, and sign.
Opening a contract shows its full page with a toolbar. From here you can restyle it, download the PDF, share it with your client for signing, collaborate with notes and comments, and request a legal review.
Change the design & font
Use “Change Design” to switch between 12 professional layouts (Modern, Classic, Corporate, Legal, Elegant, Luxury and more), or “Design Your Own” to open the Free Editor. Pick a font to match your brand — the preview updates live.
Open any contract from My Contracts to view its full page.
Click “Change Design” to try a different layout, or set a font — the page updates live.
Click “Download PDF” to save it. On the free plan, PDF download is unlocked per-contract for a one-time $5 fee, or included with any plan.
Click “Share with Client” to get a shareable link and optional password — send the password through a secure channel. You can also share on WhatsApp.
Use Notes for private reminders, Comments to collaborate, “Edit Contract” to make changes, or “Save as Template” to reuse it later.
Need a lawyer? Use “Request Legal Review” to have a professional review and stamp the contract.
The Free Editor (Design Your Own)
A drag-and-drop canvas to design contract layouts exactly how you want.
The Free Editor is a Canva-style canvas for building a contract's look from scratch. Open it from a contract with “Design Your Own”. Drag in data blocks and decorative elements, arrange them freely, and your contract's real content flows into the layout.
Elements, media & pages
The Elements panel adds data blocks (Contract, Parties, Financial, Dates, Signatures) and decorations (seals, ribbons, dividers, badges). Media adds your logo and images; Page Settings controls the page size and margins.
From a contract, choose “Design Your Own” to open the Free Editor — or start from a ready-made Template.
Drag elements from the left palette onto the canvas; select any element to change it in the Properties panel.
Use the Layers panel to reorder items, and the toolbar to Zoom, Undo/Redo, and toggle the grid & snapping.
Save your design — it applies to your contract, and past designs are kept under “My Documents”.
Custom Branding & e-Stamp
White-label your contracts with your company identity.
On a Business or company plan, the “Custom Branding” panel in Settings lets you white-label your contracts — add your company logo, name, brand color, and font so every contract and PDF carries your identity. Your saved brand can also appear as a company seal (ختم) next to signatures.
On a Business or company plan, open Settings and scroll to “Custom Branding”.
Upload your company logo, set your company name, and pick a brand color and font.
Click “Save Branding” — the live preview shows exactly how your contracts will look.
Your branding now applies to your contracts and their PDFs automatically.
Legal Review by a Lawyer
Get your contracts professionally reviewed and approved by a verified legal expert.
Coventract provides a network of verified legal professionals who can review your contracts, leave comments, and provide an official legal approval stamp.
From your contract's view page, click the 'Legal Review' dropdown button in the top toolbar.
Choose 'Request Legal Review' to browse the network of available lawyers, or 'Invite Your Lawyer' to send a private link to your own legal contact.
Select a lawyer and proceed to payment (credit or PayPal). Once assigned, the lawyer receives a secure link to your contract.
The lawyer reviews the contract, leaves comments in the Discussion chat, and can upload their official stamp and signature.
Once approved, the contract shows a 'Legal Approval' badge with the lawyer's name and timestamp.

Teams & Seats
Bring your team into one shared workspace.
Business and company plans include team seats. Invite members by email, and everyone shares the plan's features. Owners manage seats and can remove members at any time — removed members keep their own contracts.
Team Insights
See how your team and contracts are performing.
Business and company plans include an analytics dashboard that shows contract volume, activity over time, and how your team is using Coventract — so owners and managers can track output at a glance.
Open Insights from the sidebar (Business and company plans).
Review your key metrics — total contracts created and signed, conversion rate, and average time to sign.
Click “Export Report” to download the figures, and use the breakdowns to spot bottlenecks.
Bulk Operations
Create contracts and invite teammates at scale.
Enterprise managers can process work in batches from the Bulk Operations page. It has two tabs: “CSV Import” to create many contracts from a spreadsheet, and “Mass Invite” to add several team members at once.
Open Bulk Operations from the sidebar (Enterprise managers).
On the “CSV Import” tab, click “Download sample” to get the format, then “Upload CSV” or paste your rows below.
Click “Import … Contracts” to create them all in one go.
Switch to “Mass Invite”, paste a list of email addresses, and click “Send Invitations”.
Company Sign-in (SSO)
Let your team sign in with your company identity provider.
Enterprise accounts can connect single sign-on (SAML or OIDC) so your team logs in with your company's identity provider, and optionally auto-provision users with SCIM. Managers configure it from the Company Sign-in page.
Open Company Sign-in from the sidebar (Enterprise managers).
Choose your standard — SAML or OIDC — to match your identity provider.
Create a Coventract app in your IdP, copying the Reply/ACS URL and Entity ID from the “Connection values” card.
Paste your IdP's values into the form and Submit. Optionally, generate a SCIM token to auto-sync users.
Business Tools
Quick calculators for pricing and payment decisions.
A set of built-in calculators — payment schedule, late-fee, freelance rate estimator, and business valuation — so you can crunch the numbers without leaving the app. Pick your currency and results update instantly.
Invoicing & Getting Paid
Send professional invoices and collect payment — online or by bank.
Available on any paid plan, the Invoices page lets you bill clients and get paid. Connect PayPal once to accept card and PayPal payments online, or share bank details or a custom link for manual payment. Every invoice is a branded PDF, and paid invoices send an automatic receipt.
Connect PayPal (one-time)
On the Invoices page, click “Connect PayPal” and enter the PayPal email where you want to receive money. Clients can then pay any invoice online in one click and it's marked paid automatically. There's no platform fee — payments go straight to your PayPal account.
Go to Invoices and click “New invoice”.
Add your client, line items, tax, and the issue and due dates.
Under “Payment method” choose PayPal (online checkout), Bank transfer (add your account details), or Other (paste a custom link such as Stripe).
Click “Send to client” — they receive a branded email with the PDF and a “Pay” button (you can also share it on WhatsApp).
PayPal payments are marked paid automatically; for bank or custom methods, use “Mark paid” when the money arrives. Paid invoices move to the “Receipts” tab, and “Download receipt” saves the PDF.
Developer API
Automate contracts with API keys and webhooks.
A Business-plan feature for account owners: generate API keys to integrate Coventract with your own systems, and use webhooks to be notified when contracts are created or signed. The full endpoint reference lives on the Developers page.
Open Developers from the sidebar (Business plan, account owner).
Click “Generate API key” and copy it right away — it's shown only once. Use “Regenerate key” to rotate it.
Add a webhook URL to receive events (e.g. contract signed) in real time.
Open “View API docs” for the full endpoint reference, then call it from your app.

Theme & layout
“Dashboard Layout” switches between the Classic and Modern sidebars (Modern needs an active plan); “Theme Customization” sets your colors.
Notifications
“Notifications” controls which emails you get — contract updates, security alerts, and product news.
Deleting your account
“Danger Zone” at the bottom of Settings lets you permanently delete your account and data.
Account & Security
Manage your password and the devices signed in to your account.
From Settings → Security you control how and where you're signed in. Change your password by email link, and review every device currently signed in to your account.
Signed-in devices
Open Settings and scroll to the Security section.
Under “Signed-in devices” you'll see each active device, with your current one marked “This device”.
Click “Sign out” next to any device you don't recognize — it's signed out within seconds.
Use “Sign out all other devices” after using a shared or public computer.
You can stay signed in on up to 5 devices at once. Signing in on a new device beyond that automatically signs out your least-recently-used one.
Billing & Receipts
Manage your plan and download your receipts.
The Billing page shows your current plan and everything about your payments. Change or cancel your plan, top up contract credits, and download a receipt for every charge.
Open Billing from the sidebar.
Under “Current plan”, use “Manage Plan” to upgrade or change, or “Cancel Subscription” to cancel — your plan stays active until the period ends.
Top up your “Credit Balance” with extra contract credits if you need more than your plan includes.
Every payment appears under “Receipts” — click Download to save the PDF.
